Race: Little Rock Marathon (26.2 Miles) 02:25:18, Place overall: 4
Total Distance
27.20

AM: Little Rock Marathon. Weather was near perfect with a little extra wind then forecasted. Fairly hilly course though, so definitely happy with the time on a very honest course. Got out in about 1:10:15 and felt great in through the later half which is a little tougher in elevation change then the first. Got my Wichita side stitch about the same time on this race around mile 19-20. Was very very pleased with my performance until mile 24. funny how in the marathon things can turn from great to horrible within a matter of a half mile. I believe lack of hydration and nutrition towards the end really put me in. Brain started shutting down so I entered survival mode for the last two miles with the watch pushing low 6s. Place wasnt going to change so I just wanted to make it to the line. A little bummed about that since I was on a 2:22-2:23 performance until then, and felt like I might have made a move on 3rd place who was fading. Got beat by very respectable company though, and feel like my fitness was shown today. Overall satisfied with the race. Now back to the grind.

Great race and top 5 finish is awesome. Like you said, marathons are tough as you never know what the next mile holds.

You competed very well against a strong field. If the side stitch started creeping up ~19 and you didn't really start losing time until 5 miles later, that shows some real toughness to be able to solider on and hold the hard pace. Really good job, congrats!

Great job!
